Janette Law

Impact + Fundraising + Project Management

During her career as a strategic public relations professional, Janette has honed the ability to deepen and expand relationships with community members, partners, media, and policymakers to secure widespread support for transformative programs.

The AmplifyDMC team first got to know Janette through her work with the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, where she used the power of storytelling to show how parks and public space intersect with the critical issues of our time.

That word “intersect” captures Janette’s knack for connecting strong strategic communications and marketing with individual giving, major gifts, grant-seeking, and more. All of these, of course, play perfectly into the “Whole DMC” of our services. Janette brings that range of knowledge to client meetings, linking incisive questions to decisive actions as both advisor and doer, as both project manager and resource.

Janette also deeply knows this place, and has a passion for telling the stories that celebrate under-heard voices. Her strong Minnesota and Minneapolis roots give her counsel and knowledge of the nonprofit landscape extra depth. This has shown up in Janette’s partnership with our longtime clients, and on newer, special initiatives like Amplify’s work with the Minnesota Council on Foundations to create the “Minnesota State Share” campaign.

Ask the Ampster: Can you share a memorable volunteering or fundraising experience you’ve had?

I started volunteering as a teenager, first for Save the Children and then as a childcare helper for a Minneapolis women's shelter. In a full-circle (or small-town!) moment, the latter role was in the same building where Amplify client FamilyWise Services is currently headquartered. Since then, I have volunteered for the Minneapolis Park Board, Minneapolis Public Schools, and community nonprofits. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Hope Community, Inc.
