AMY SINYKIN
Operations + Governance + Project Management
When asked to introduce herself in a meeting, Amy often leads with “I’m a nonprofit geek.” This is her modest shorthand for the long list of nonprofit know-how Amy brings to AmplifyDMC. Amy’s varied years in the nonprofit sector saw her work with organizations at all stages of growth, including Charities Review Council, HandsOn Twin Cities, and the Volunteer Center of Saint Paul.
Like a few other Ampsters, Amy spent part of her career as a volunteer coordinator, giving her unique insight into both managing people and recognizing their special skills. As Amplify’s general manager, Amy has a similar line of sight into all corners of the company, and into all the talents that make up the “Whole DMC.” In that spirit, Amy has a well-earned knack for putting members of our team in position to succeed.
Amy is also an expert in nonprofit governance, compliance, and board management and her firm and steady guidance can keep the most challenging projects on track. This includes keeping up on the latest tools, like generative AI, and putting them to efficient use. When not making sure everything and everyone at AmpHQ runs smoothly, Amy project manages several Amplify clients while also lending expertise as a resource, stepping in to wrangle a “LYBNT” report or steer a client toward the right donor database.
Ask the Ampster: Can you share a memorable volunteering or fundraising experience you’ve had?
Long ago, I coordinated volunteers for the Washington Free Medical Clinic in Washington DC. At the time, I loved my job and thought it meant that i should go into public health. Thankfully, I realized that it was really the volunteers that I loved. So, I came back home and sought out work at the Volunteer Center thus setting me on a path of working with wonderful people and in jobs for the last 30 years.
