Laura Bray

Planning + Operations + Execution

Laura most recently served as Communications and Development Manager at Great River Passage Conservancy, where she built expertise in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and communications. Before that, she honed her skills in project management and client services as a paralegal in patent and immigration law. Having partnered with Amplify as a client at Great River Passage Conservancy, Laura brings valuable firsthand experience back to our work.

As Amp’s Client Services Manager, Laura’s organizational and process management skills—especially her attention to detail and ability to keep complex projects on track—make every project more efficient and effective.

Across her professional experience, Laura has dipped her toes into almost everything we see at Amp: she’s written grants, managed donor relations, led marketing and communications, managed projects, and served as an interim executive director. As a result, she’s familiar with most of what comes in our door and approaches her role with total administrative expertise. Her skills perfectly support Amplify’s full scope of work.

Ask the Ampster: Can you share a memorable volunteering or fundraising experience you’ve had?

My first big volunteer experience was the summer after my freshman year of college when I spent six weeks in Bolivia with a European volunteer group, planting papaya trees on a small ecological farm. I was 18 and traveling alone for the first time—it was eye-opening in so many ways. I experienced a completely different way of life and saw firsthand that not everyone had the same opportunities I took for granted at home. I also connected with volunteers from across Europe who offered new perspectives and challenged my own. It was pretty life-changing! I returned to college, switched my major from Psychology to Peace Studies, and began shaping a path toward the nonprofit world.
